Smart socks for monitoring the health of people with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

OkDiario, March 2024

Smart socks for monitoring the health of people with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Following the buzz created by the launch of the Smart Socks project, Ok Diario has also published an extensive article on the topic in its OkSalud section.

Our CEO, Jaume Vidal, explained the functionality of the smart socks to Ok Diario as follows:

“These socks have built-in sensors that, with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) software, collect and process information on movement, sweating, and heart rate, sending real-time signals to the cloud platform developed by Unimedia Technology. This information is analyzed and alerts caregivers to a potential episode of agitation before it reaches its peak. This is likely to help improve the well-being of the person wearing these socks and reduce the impact or agitation that these episodes have on caregivers or their immediate surroundings.”
